JN ‘ Jack’ Crawford blazed into the Surrey team in 1904 at the age of 17 and broke a host of records. He became the youngest cricketer to play for England and a Wisden Cricketer of the Year. Yet, not long after his 21st birthday, he played the last of his twelve Test matches.
